Our editorial assessment of each team's fantasy potential heading into the new EIHL season.
Glasgow head into 2026/27 off the back of one of last season's best stories. Finishing 8th in the regular season, the Clan went on a genuine Cinderella playoff run upsetting regular-season champions Belfast Giants before falling to eventual champions Cardiff Devils in the semifinal. Head coach Mike Sirant returns to build on that momentum.
Unlike some of their rivals, this is a reload rather than a rebuild. Captain Deven Sideroff and assistant captain Steven Seigo both return, and the vast majority of last season's contract list has been extended: Alex Forbes, Robert Lachowicz, Tristin Langan, Mick Messner, Austin Mitchell-King, Cade Neilson, Brady Risk, Rylan Schwartz and Miihkali Teppo are all back.
The additions are targeted rather than wholesale. Forward Ross Armour and defenceman Matt Spencer both arrive from Nottingham Panthers, while Joseph Hazeldine makes the reverse move to Nottingham — effectively a like-for-like swap between the two clubs.
Elsewhere, Josh Tarzwell and Cole Kodsi add further forward depth, and Jake Johnson, Julius Reini and Juho Rautanen strengthen the blue line.
In goal, Rasmus Tirronen arrives from Black Wings Linz to replace departing Sami Aittokallio, joining an extended Liam Soulière and English goaltender Daniel Norton.
The most notable departure is defenceman Colton Poolman, who has retired, while Aittokallio and Lucas Brine both move on from the crease.
With continuity in the room and a proven playoff run behind them, Glasgow look well-placed to push for a higher regular-season finish this time around rather than relying on a late surge.

DT Star
The captain and clear top-line center, expected to anchor Glasgow's offense throughout the season.
Sleeper Pick
A physical, sizeable winger arriving from a competitive ECHL environment who could outperform his fantasy price early on.
Breakout Candidate
Joins in the swap from Nottingham with a chance to be a focal offensive piece in a new environment.
Top Defenceman
A physical, experienced blueliner who should see significant minutes on Glasgow's top pairing.
Starting Netminder
The likely starter behind a settled, largely returning defensive group — a strong platform for consistent numbers.
DT Verdict
Glasgow bring back the core of a team that went on a genuine playoff run last season, and added just enough depth to push higher up the table. A solid, if not spectacular, source of fantasy value across the lineup.
Season Prediction
Best Case
Build on last season's run and push into the top half of the table.
Worst Case
A middling regular season with another reliance on a playoff surge.
Confidence
Medium
Continuity plus a couple of smart additions gives Glasgow a real chance to improve on last season's regular-season finish, even if their ceiling ultimately depends on how last year's playoff run translates into consistent regular-season form.
Editors Note
This preview reflects confirmed signings and departures as of mid-July 2026. Projected line combinations will be updated during pre-season as Glasgow's deployment becomes clearer.
